A fingerprint is a ridge pattern of the skin
on a person's fingertips. This is constant
through life and no two are exactly alike.
Fingerprinting was first used as a means of
identifying crime suspects in India, and was
adopted by the English police 1901, it is now
widely employed in police and security work.
